My project continues, steering and cable drive all in position. Time for a quick run down the road, must remember to fit some brakes .

  • I've seen something like this years ago used in place of peddles, with a spring set up to return to the orginal position for the down stroke on a ordanary bike and still used the chain. This looks very interesting and hope to see something come out of it.

  • @candr thanks for interest soon to be posting new vid with improvements

  • i like your design. did a similar design sum-year's-a-go. you will find that the 15cm bicycle pedal arms are too short. 40cm arms are the best-! ( full power stroke of 30cm ) But with longer pedal arms. torque or twisting is a probiem. So add a second set of arms. see my

design vid. leg & heel support is more comfort. use all ball bearings. Return springs best

long & light 40cm stretching to 60cm mix on the under-side of vehicle. hope this will help

as i did lot's of testing many desighs. .

  • @MTJLT The stroke was just limited by the construction, I would say the stroke should be as long as is comfortable all to be improved upon

  • @sweeney37 I liked your laugh when you saw it worked. Is the short stroke your preference, or necessitated by the design? If you can manage a longer stroke I think you'd find better mechanical advantage.

  • @MTJLT Hello yes I follow your Ideas, did you look at the redesigned frame work in my next video. Check out Efros bike I was looking at using a similar lever arm set up to this and also using hydraulic rams to charge an accumalator through to a hydraulic motor.

  • @sweeney37 My idea would use linear pedal slides driving either dual chains or toothed belts through overriding clutches. An intermediate, conventional BB sprocket set or hub gears would drive the rear wheel through a short chain path. I hope my description is adequate. I'm sure your next-generation prototype performed much better. My concern with your drive is short, non-variable pedal stroke limiting mechanical advantage. Stay in touch, I'd like to see where it goes.

  • :)

  • @MTJLT would be interested in your ideas

  • was hard to get going on the first attempt, some rollers and pulleys needed. Had made a lot of changes will update soon
