Kordoba lub Kordowa (hiszp. Córdoba) -- miasto w południowej Hiszpanii, nad rzeką Gwadalkiwir, ok. 340 tys. mieszkańców. Stolica prowincji Kordoba, w regionie Andaluzja. Na filmie pokazano panoramę miasta, rzymski most Puente Romano i meczet-katedrę, La Mezquita Catedral:
Mezquita - przebudowany na katedrę meczet, jedno z najwspanialszych dzieł architektury islamu. Zajmuje teren o wymiarach 179x128 metrów otoczony murem z wieżą -- dzwonnicą (dawnym minaretem, na którym wzorowano się w krajach islamskich). Budowany od 785 do końca X wieku na fundamentach świątyni rzymskiej i na murach istniejącej wówczas bazyliki Wizygotów. Po zdobyciu Kordoby przez chrześcijan, na środku sali modłów meczetu zbudowano w XVI wieku katedrę. Kiedy w 1526 cesarz Karol V przybył tutaj był wstrząśnięty tym widokiem i podobno powiedział: "zniszczyliście coś, co było jedyne w swoim rodzaju i postawiliście coś, co można zobaczyć wszędzie". Wnętrze o wysokości 11,50 metrów, z 850 kolumnami połączonymi podkowiastymi łukami robi wrażenie labiryntu.

Córdoba also Cordova is a city in Andalusia, southern Spain, and the capital of the province of Córdoba. An Iberian and Roman city in ancient times, in the Middle Ages it became the capital of an Islamic caliphate.
Bridge over the Guadalquivir River as it passes through Córdoba, linking the area of Campo de la Verdad with Barrio de la Catedral. It was the only bridge that the city had for twenty centuries, until the construction of the San Rafael Bridge in the mid-20th century.
The Cathedral and former Great Mosque of Córdoba, in ecclesiastical terms the Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (English: Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption), and known by the inhabitants of Córdoba as the Mezquita-Catedral (English: Mosque--Cathedral), is today a World Heritage Site and the cathedral of the Diocese of Córdoba. The site was originally a pagan temple, then a Visigothic Christian church, before the Umayyad Moors at first converted the building into a mosque and then built a new mosque on the site.
The Mezquita is regarded as perhaps the most accomplished monument of the Umayyad Caliphate of Córdoba. After the Spanish Reconquista, it once again became a Roman Catholic church, with a plateresque cathedral later inserted into the centre of the large Moorish building.
