I raise them from caterpillars when i'm lucky enough to find one and then the very best part is getting to set them free! I had a black swallowtail butterfly that emerged from her chrysalis before springtime, so i kept her in a terrarium. She would fly around my room and actually choose to come alight on my person. I believe that she must have remembered me...also, she listened to my voice for 5mths before emerging as a butterfly. It is wonderful to have such a delicate shy creature as a friend!
