Sorry, but I hate it.... Had to turn it off after the most ridiculous "Là ci darem la mano" in history. Even if you paid me, I wouldn't see an opera produced by the Los Angeles Opera.

What is it with regietheater? Despite trying to be "new," it's become a cliche of its own. Despite trying to "bring in a new audience," it's pushing us away instead, and they have the nerve to call us snobs?

It's difficult nowadays to picture another Don Giovanni on stage delivering the power Schrott gives to the character. Convincing, charming.
He has the look and feel of Don Juan.
