An animation based on "The Unknown," a poem by Edgar Lee Masters. I made the animation using a combination of ink drawings and cut-outs. Fun fact: I spent so long working on the go-motion book background, it started giving me motion sickness. Cool, huh?

  • @PinkCarnationProDux Hey, thanks for the comment! I'm glad this is still being appreciated. Working in silhouette is something I don't do enough of. And you're definitely right in saying it takes a lot of patience.... and I was drawing with ink for most of the animation (and switching to live-action paper cut-out pages), as opposed to sliding around little paper pieces, like Reiniger was doing in her films.

  • Wow! I LOVE the book background; although, you're right...it does turn your stomach a little.

I love this so much! It's only about a minute long, but I don't think I've seen anything like it. I'm an avid fan of Lotte Reiniger, so silhouette animations on Youtube are a guilty pleasure of mine. I just wish I had the patience to make one.

    Great job! Again!
