First 25 minutes present Kelly Cassidy, a candidate for the Democratic Party slot in the March 20th primary, promising to bring her budget expertise from 11 years in the State's Attorney's office. Cutting gang member access to guns is one of her priorities. [Cassidy was appointed to the 14th District seat in the Assembly, but she faces voters for the first time, as she was appointed to the post mid-term because of unexpected vacancies.] The 14th district includes the Chicago neighborhoods of Edgewater, Andersonville and Rogers Park. Cassidy has strong support from major Illinois elected officials as well as 'Illinois' largest union--the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
