http://www.EmploymentCrossing.com Last week, Microsoft unveiled the first of its television and web commercials starring comedian Jerry Seinfeld and former CEO Bill Gates. The shoe store spot was met with much head scratching. This weekend, the second salvo was unleashed. Burned by the disastrous public and media reception to its Windows Vista operating system, the Redmond-based software developer has turned to Seinfeld to help the company reconnect with customers. In the new spot, Seinfeld and Gates, playing themselves, attempt to do this literally, by moving in with a typical American family. In the video, produced by Miami-based ad agency Crispin, Porter and Bogusky, Gates and Seinfeld suffer a series of sitcom-style adventures as they share a bedroom together and suffer the jealousy of the family children. Gates and Seinfeld poke fun at their own personae as an ex-Hippie Pacific-Northwest multi-billionaire and a Jewish East Coast celebrity millionaire. But unlike Apples famous Mac vs. PC spots starring Justin Long and John Hodgman, the Gates and Seinfeld spots arent terribly funny. The only humorous part is a suggestion that Bill Gates invented the internet, and that humor seems to be unintentional. While some media critics have praised the spots, the online community is nonplussed.
wow, this is just terrible. And BTW, the ads REALLY SUCKED LARGE MONKEY NUTS.
