LIVINGSTON TAYLOR - Good Friends

When I heard this song it knocked me down. I don't think I can make it through the tune yet without an incredibly uncomfortable lump in my throat.

It occurred to me about a week after hearing this tune that the lyric voice of the song would be very strong as the voice of our canine pals. This is a rough sketch of what should edit down to a 30 second spot for the ASPCA,The Humane Society of the United States or Paws for a Cause. These are organizations along with many, many others that deserve our continued support.

Without humanitarian organizations, animal advocacy programs and your help our planet would be greatly diminished. We can make a difference.

Livingston Taylor's career as a professional musician has (as he humbly puts it) rattled along for over thirty years.

He has toured-some might say, perpetually-with such major artists as Linda Ronstadt, Jimmy Buffett, Fleetwood Mac, and Jethro Tull.

He has recorded eleven albums, and currently maintains a performing schedule of more than a hundred shows a year, which include club, theater, college, and full symphony repertoire.

Now a full professor, Livingston has lectured regularly at the Berklee College of Music in Boston since 1985 and has taught a performance course there since 1989. The concept, and much of the inspiration, for Stage Performance come from those classes.

Livingston is currently Artist-in-Residence at Harvard University.

I've loved this song for decades (as well as dogs), and when the two became connected through this video, it hit my heart like a ton of bricks when I viewed this.

I've visited youtube before, but as you said, this is a masterpiece, to combine a Liv composition I've always loved, along with the photos of dogs, I love even more. My golden is now blind, yet loves music. Even she responded to this song by coming closer to the desk here, and is actually listenin, wagging her tail. To me, this is as good as it gets. Thanks!

This is a beautiful song and your montage was a perfect pairing. Animals show unconditional love and appreciate us for every little thing we do. No back talk, no back-stabbing, no hurtful comments...only love. To experience a bond of trust, appreciation, and loyalty, hard to find amongst human beings it sometimes seems, adopt a pet and love them as much as they will love you. The rewards will be immeasurable.
