Schenectady NY mayor considers martial law.

After a number of scandals have sent Schenectady officials scrambling to clean up the police department, there are now a number of options being discussed. They include disbanding the department, restarting with a new county-wide police force, or even declaring martial law and bringing in the National Guard.

What is needed is a High Standard of Conduct and low tollerance of any criminal activity within the dept. I don't want to see our military to be used upon the Citizens of The USA. We need good cops to be imported if you can't find any within the county

I am probably on your side on all issues except this. I live in Schenectady. What do you do when you have a 100% corrupt police force? Even if you disband the department, these criminals will still live here and still cause trouble. I would feel more comfortable with martial law here than being policed by these fools.

I also 100% disagree with this video. I just moved to Schenectady because I thought it was safer than Albany, which as far as street thugs go, it is. The most dangerous people in this city are the police. I have not been frightened by any street thug, only by the members of the police department. I saw one officer that quite obviously had just done an enormous amount of cocaine, and I do not like that those guys walk around with guns here. I welcome Martial Law in Schenectady.
