If I recall correctly, there was a 1950s cartoon short(Tex Avery? Walter Lantz?) called "Shhhhh!" that uses either all or part of this famous record. Any animation fans out there that can verify this? I have many DVDs & LDs of classic vintage animation, Disney, MGM, Looney Tunes, etc. But I don't recall this short being amongst them.

That's neat if it is included in the cartoon you're talking about. I'm not familiar with that one, but I'd certainly like to see it.

    Interesting record Lloyd !

I think this is Lucie Bernardo who is laughing, she was an German artist who made a few of those records in the late twenties for the Odeon Label, and also one were she is crying all the time ! Der "Weinplatte" !

Its so nice to hear this crazy record here on your channel! Thanks !

Thanks for the information Daniel! I'm not familiar with her, but would definitely be interested in finding more of her 78's. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. :-)

OMG, too funny... it's true what they say... if you listen to laughter you can't help start laughing yourself! Or at least crack a smile! What a bizarre - and great - recording. I'd like to play this at high volume any Saturday night. Let the neighbors think what they want OKEY!!!

    Yes, this one's quite bizarre.

HA! That's a great idea. My neighbors would still have a hard time hearing it though because I've got a good bit of space between them.

Absolutely it is. About half the cartoon was set exclusively to the record, and it is some of the funniest footage you will ever see in your life; Tex Avery directed it (and it was, in fact, the last theatrical short he ever directed).

The OKeh Laughing Record, which featured a man and woman laughing uncontrollably, was featured extensively in the Walter Lantz Productions cartoon short Sh-h-h-h-h, the last short directed by Tex Avery. WIKIPEDIA

Well, it would mean not having to kick out your guests. You can just take the record off, and your neighbors will still think you had a big party. hahaha!

well there's concrete block walls and slab concrete floors between me and my neighbors... I've asked several of them over and over, can they hear my music? They always say 'no'. But I try and be respectful... never after 10pm, most nights I'm in bed by 9pm anyway! Can't remember the last time I was up late.
