The spectacular approach between the mountains to Gonggar airport Tibet.
Gonggar was the nearest suitable airport sized flat area to Lhasa, which lies some 30km North over a mountain range.
The airport's altitude of over 3500m makes it one of the highest in the world.

  • @MegaPlanelover We'd flown from Chengdu

  • Flying to high altitude is not the best way to arrive, but were mostly OK. Take it easy for a day or more.

  • wich airplane?

  • The cabin pressure is for a lower elevation than the airport. Not many places where that is the case. Nice video.

  • for the altitude sickness, always have some chocolate with you, or sugar it makes you feel better

  • looks like you are landing on mars

  • The view is amazing. I hope one day I can visit Tibet

  • We're going there next month...did you suffer badly from the Altitude Sickness?
