  • Bluegrass is probably the only non-bastardized and least processed American music.

  • I think Krauss and Union Station produce a great sound. Nearest the UK has to it are folk bands like Show of Hands which can be quite zappy. Never should be a UK versus USA in music. Both have produced great singers and musicians.

  • The interviewer seems to imply that there is a conscious effort on the part of americans to ignore or not appreciate "british" music.....America has had a 25 year love affair with music from the UK and like George said "all things must pass"....the corporate music monsters made sure british bands were the main focus and american bands were secondary...the brits may never be as dominant as they once were but the gems will shine through.

  • @Susseditout The Transatlantic Sessions are great. I agree that a competition is stupid; These sessions are wonderful, tho. Cudos to BBC Scotland for doing it right.

  • Geezus I fucking love Allison Krauss & Union Station. I grew up listening to them....I can remember being maybe 4 or 5 and hearing those songs from the 1995 best of compilation album all the time in my living room...she is insanely talented, they are insanely talented. But everyone needs to stop arguing about American vs. British groups...both countries have made fantastic music and have great musicians. End of discussion.

  • @seguiriya1 which accent turns you on then -the sultry squealing of a pig i guess. oink oink

  • Love Alison !

  • @wordbeeps

Yeah, but she's got an English accent, which ruins it..

  • @tonywilk57

Yeah, the Beatles and the Stones, Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Clapton, etc etc couldnt make it either.. lol.

Dont mix up xfactor and pop idol (i think thats what the american version is called) with real music.

  • 36 Grammys Wow!! I didn't know that-I knew she was dedicated-My hat's off to Alison!!!!!

  • Allison didn't win the fiddler's competition for the state of tennessee-an old timer said she didn't bow her fiddle correctly-but she is a heck of a fiddle player & has a good voice too-So that just goes to show, even if you don't win-you can still have promise in the music industry in nashville!! Thanks for posting this!

  • @wordbeeps That's Sussanah Reid at BBC Breakfast News.
