The Occupy Wall Street movement announced last week their plan to "Occupy Black Friday" at stores across the country but as of mid-morning shopping was not hindered by the anti-greed movement. There were no major reports of Occupiers taking over malls and stores across the U.S. except for a group in front of Macy's in New York City's Herald Square where a larger rally is expected later Friday Afternoon. Many outlets have banned tents from the front of the stores fearing that protestors might be pretending to be shoppers while they wait for the doors to open to begin their campaign.

  • I would've loved to see these beggars try. Considering that Black Friday has a reputation for being rowdy at even the best of times, the battles between the smelly hippies and shoppers would have been epic, with my money on the shoppers.

  • I'd hate to know anyone from fox

  • For the first time ever they are actualy worried about the peoples employment. Wow, where were they before the movement, they did not give a shit before , Why so concerned now?

  • fox news at its best.

  • Ahahahaha! That is hilarious! Domestic terrorists? Good thing is that by next summer, OWS will be in every city and most small towns across America. Then, the Fox propaganda will be over! People will get the news by watching it on their streets.

  • Fox news hah, good one. Everyone knows people that watch fox news are the most misinformed group out there. This is a funny one.

  • Not true.

  • The fact that you're using a FOX News clip to try to argue your point already makes you an idiot.

But there is Black Friday protests in Eugene, San Fransisco, New York and more. It's there to remind people to shop local or not at all. Many big businesses like Macy's and Walmart have been found guilty of child labour and Walmart is guilty of contributing to 10% of America's over-all trade deficit.

People need to be reminded that smart shopping starts with the consumers.
