The only accident of the Champion Spark Plug 400 takes place about 3 quarters of the way through the race.

#89 Jim Sauter spins in turn 2 shortly after a restart and #75 Joe Ruttman slams into the side of him.
#55 Ted Musgrave also spins around.

  • Stupid question: Did they ever figure out who it was that spun? It looks like Ted Musgrave.

  • yea i can tell its Musgrave (i actually say that in the video info) but no the announcers never figure it out, and if they do they dont say so

  • That's why God invented video info. DOH.

Sorry. Guess it really was a stupid question. ;)

  • NASCAR was so much cooler in the old days...

  • everytime i watch an old live clip.. and they say "we'll be back in a moment" i stare blankfaced at the screen untill i relise its 2008 lol

  • Watch the action on top of the camper just after Ruttman's car comes to a rest. Pretty funny stuff. I guarantee that hillbilly had no idea he was on television. LMAO

  • "here comes Earnhardt" most annoying words in NASCAR, hadn't heard that in years

  • LOL look at about 2:17 at the man and woamn in the middle of the screen.
