It might be unlike the prince in the Disney adaption but from the original legend you learn nothing about the prince, except he ordered that every maiden in the country should try the shoe. There was no question whether they would have him or not.
I am not sure this Cinderella does not wish to win the prince, though. She glances at her step-mother before she refuses to show her face and she hates being a beaut.
But truly it is not love but either ambition or a sacrifice for the family.
