Taking off in the Wilco 737-500 from Dublin shown from the virtual cockpit and also some interesting views from the cabin. Aircraft is Feelthere Wilco 737-500 in Aer Lingus livery and scenery is IFSD Dublin. FS2004. Please note that at 2:50 there is an apparent mismatch between the throttle levers. This is just an FS bug, nothing at all to do with the pilot!

Normally at 3,000 feet you have to switch off the engine start switches, the autobrakes and put the gear lever in the off position but because there's usually a co-pilot to perform these actions, it sometimes takes me a little longer.

  • Great video- why did the brakes come on when you rotated? Did you reduce the power causing the RTO autobrake to activate?

  • @themit0 Nope. Brakes must be deployed to stop the wheels from spinning before you retract the gear!

  • im guessing thats a possibe tailstrike?

  • You'd be guessing wrong! It's the 737-500 - it can tolerate 14 degrees of nose-up on rotate without tail strike. I replayed this recording from outside and everything was grand!

  • When you took off, I notice you climbed on a 20 degree angle. The proper takeoff angle is 10-13 degrees.

  • Not so. You pitch up until your speed is V2+20.
