I like the way you used Radio dialogue - always loved that scene in episode 1
-
And that's how Wall-E was created.
-
...i would rather watch the entire original trilogy like this than watch that awful Ep. 1...

@Eekhoornhoer Yes, completely. Luke also has a better, simpler introduction in the new version.
-
Not only is it great this scene was left out for the fact that it makes the pace at the beginning faster and more ominous, it also would have detracted from the epic moment we meet Luke Skywalker later in the film.
-
This is so atmospheric!

I think, this shows exactly the difference between the old and the new films: the scene is nice, but not really necessary and it slows down the plot (for no good reason) and sort of diminiushes the effect of Vader's first appearance. As much as I like to watch it, as much I am happy it is not in the final cut (same for the bar scene, where Luke reports about the battle to his friends, which was cut). In the new films there are much too many of those scenes, kind of spoiling the story

ah.....Mark Hamill's voice....~

it could have been placed better and trimmed up a bit.
So this is where Wall-e's career began.

Good that they left this scene out. Vader and the Empire come across much more threatening in today's cut. Also, the pace is a bit faster without the Luke scene.
