Nah, I know of a few incidents with Mr Newman and his attitude to other humans that will always taint my perception of his honesty. And this makes me the idiot, but were I to hear the same talk from a different person I'd probably be more receptive to it.

Well, I saw Russell Brand live not more than 5 hours ago and the first person I compared him to was Rob because he does the same voices. So, er..? Rob isn't amazingly funny, but he's the funniest you'll find politics of this depth. Sure beats the evening news. I'm glad to see you went through his footage and found it favourable, he is very easy to pass over if not given a chance :)

I have just spent the last hour watching Newman footage from various sources, both old and new and i have to make this additional comment. I'm man enought to admit when i'm wrong. He is quite outstanding. A very original mind. I had no idea he was that great. Thanks for your well reasoned arguement. I'm a convert.

Why cretin? That's a bit harsh!In fact, a lot of his comedy is about looking forward and thinking a bit more openly about the politics of today. don't mark him on the stuff he did with baddiel, that was a bit mainstream. Today, he actually has a point to make, and from your comments, i'd venture to say you've never listened to him!

baddiel isn't very good either. My point is this, newman has the nostalgia factor due to 30 somethings looking back through rose tinted specs. That doesn't make him any good though. Eddy Izzard, Russell Brand and Billy Connolly are all far better than this cretin.

and baddiel acting like an adolescent twat...yeah, that's fresh. Rob is amazing, i went to see him a few years back very vey clever guy-he no way does 'a voice'. maybe you should bother listening to it sometime. You might learn a thing or too as well!

There is only one reason why Rob didn't become more of a success and that's because he isn't very good. The mock upper class voice thing is so 90's and tiresome.
