did anyone else catch the starfox reference at 3:15? That made my day. I'm assuming it's a ref to starfox for the snes, not starfox 64...

I doubt it was a Starfox reference. A Barrel Roll is a common aerial maneuver that's long predated Starfox. In fact, what's done in Starfox isn't really even a barrel roll.

Astonishingly cheezy ads seem to be a trend of the late 80's and early 90's. Were people just that stupid to believe this sort of stuff back then?

Windows 3.1 was still in fairly wide use when Windows 95 was released. Even as recently as Windows 98, a lot of programs were still written to run on the Windows 3.x family.

Keep in mind this was way back in 1995, when most people didn't even know what a "taskbar" or the "Windows key" was. Sure, the Mac and the GUI was hardly anything new, but Windows 95 was a radical change from Windows 3. And in a very good way.
