This is a review IN ENGLISH of the Wouxon KG-UVD1P from China. You can find these on eBay for roughly $110 shipped. Shipping is about 2 weeks. It's a great little radio.

  • It's FCC certified under part 90, not part 15. Isn't that a problem when using the radio for amateur frequencies?

  • @materdaddy No, it's certified for all of those frequencies. 136-174. Yaesu has business band radios that are Part 90 certified and you can use them on amateur frequencies.

  • antenna is garbage? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? from MANY other reviews when compared to other big names, people always rate it better!

  • @razorseal It isn't very good on 2m. It's decent on 70cm. I put on a Diamond RH77CA and RX/TX improved a good amount. It's not a completely crap ducky, but it's not as good as say a Diamond RH77CA.

  • @HarryNutsax you can unlock it through software

  • Fuck USA

  • @materdaddy Your post is a year old, but just in case you never got a reply, amateur frequencies can be used on a commercial radio, but commercial frequencies cannot be used on a amateur radio. The specifications are different (much better) on commercial radios, which is one reason they cost so much more.

  • @EnduranceT This radio is analog, not digital, and will not work as a digital trunking scanner.

  • Hi, on the internal sticker it shows it goes to 519-Mhz, but in all the ebay listings for this model it always says either 400-470 or 400-480-Mhz, does it actually go to 520? I need it to have a freq in the 480-486 range and have hesitated to buy it.

    Thanks

  • @Theteamofsurvival

You can talk to police but not legally unless its a emergency. But you can also transmit on many many other channels

  • @Radiowave440 I have heard rumors of a Quangsheng tribander in the works, don't know if this is true or not...

Imagine getting a tribander for 150 bucks, as opposed to 330$ for the Kenwood TH-F6A? I love my Kenwood, but saving makes sense, especially these days!

  • @Theteamofsurvival The radio does scan, and in theory you probably could talk to the police if the radio is widebanded up to the correct police frequencies and if you can get on the right offset/ PL tones.. However, a word of warning: cops do not appreciate people talking to them via police frequencies, the many people serving jail time are proof of this :)

  • @EnduranceT I wish! No trunking capabilities exist for any 2 meter, 440 or anybanded HT as far as I know. And it is strictly analog, no EDACS support, no APCO 25, etc. If it had all these features, it would have to sell for at least 500 bucks...
