Kalmier's Efficiency LP - 07 Mob Loot Storage Room

On K.E.LP this episode, I hide a storage room under my drowning trap and explain how you could set up notice lights (I don't have redstone, but will explain it as best I can)

I also gather my torches from the spawning area so we can see the mob drowning trap in action. Very simple, but works well.

hey kalmier, i was trying out your redstone torch thing, and when somthing landed on the plate the torches didnt light up. just wondering if you had any suggestions.

@ZethestheAlmighty there should be a redstone torch above and below the side blocks, and redstone dust across the chest underground.

You can try downloading my world from a current video and look at how I did it. I just didn't have the redstone during the filming of this video.

@TheKalmier well i know i did the redstone and all right because when i step on the pressure plate it works, however when an object from the trap is set on it (this is when the water currents push it on) it doesnt light up.

@ZethestheAlmighty Is it a wooden pressure plate? Stone ones only detect player/mobs, wooden ones detect any object.

So what's the productivity of this design? It doesn't look like it can match the old tower grinders, even in 1.6.6. (No idea in 1.7, because I promptly tested a piston trap that corrupted the save I have with one of those towers built.

@rashkavar someone says they got about 275 items per hour. Which is not near as many as a mob spawning tower. But, this is also NOT an afk grinder. This is for collecting while you are building around your grinder. You just keep going by every 5 min and collect what's dropped.

I rarely run out of any of the stuff monsters drop unless I suddenly decide to do a huge project.

@PoopTruffles They don't, it's like a bank, they wait in line at the window and I deposit their stuff for them. :D

i think you shoul;d replace the stone in the room with glass so you can see the mobs float up:D
