NYC Carpenters Union rally against the Underground Economy

On Dec. 21, nearly a thousand union carpenters, construction workers, labor leaders, elected officials and many others gathered in Brooklyn to protest the Underground Building Economy in NYC. A Sheraton Hotel is being built at the site, 222 Duffield Street, with non-union labor.

@Jimmy1tooth Well, im in the Millwrights and were at 100% employed right now, it isnt always that way, but most of the time were at least 80% employed. Your experience is what it is, i dont blame you for holding a grudge against unions, but slamming all unions just because your disgruntled isnt right..........and you know it !!

@limeyny since I have work for a non union company I can have a merry xmas because I have a job unlike the union guys that are on a out of work list and went to a union xmas party to have beer and cheap food and told "work will pick up soon just hang in there and pay your dues" labor locals now have 80% on the out of work list..if you knew how many union contractors met with my boss over xmas brake to talk about going non union you wouldnt sleep tonight
