Actually, out of all male belly dancers Ive seen, I think Tarik is the best. Idk how anybody could characterize his dancing as 'awful'. People just need 2 b less closed minded.

There is a distinctly different style of dancing for men, that is suited to their bodies. We've seen men dance in the style of women, and it just doesn't look "right" Male Raks Sharki dancers like Tarik and Tito are the epitome of masculinity, power, grace and control. It is an art form, that the ignorant brush off as just "getting up there and shaking it around" Takes many years of training and practice to get to Tariks level, he makes it look so easy! His choreography is some of best!

I didn't see your question till now. Sharki by itself won't do it. You have to consider what you eat as well. It is a good cardio vascular exercise if you do it at least 1/2 hr every day. So together with good nutrition, it can help reduce your weight, but it won't give you a six pack. It will increase your stamina, coordination, relieve stress and improve your posture and muscle tone if done right though.
