  • why arent the train cars in order?

  • @vze428s7 That rail is the Reaction rail the train runs on Linear induction a Linear induction motor is suspended 11 inches above that track and that is what moves the train.

The RT sorta does run in auto mode, its called CABS. The VCC (Vehicle Control Computer) controls the switches and monitors each train and their distance between each other it also sets the speed limit. All the driver has to do is move the throttle and control the doors, if he goes over speed the VCC will stop the train.

  • @vze428s7 it does but it doesn't always work

  • The sound the RT makes is unmistakable!

  • i like that curve

  • it does operate automatically at times. they keep a driver on for "safety" reasons and to operate the doors.

  • wait i just notice in detroit they have the exact train called the people mover for some reason they run automatically due to the computerized guide way in the middle of the track. TTC has the same middle guideway thing how come the rt dont run automatically

  • They decided to continue using the RT's amazing ICTS technology. I'm not sure when they will start but I do know the construction time will be around 8-10 months. I assume they might start in 2014?

And as for the old station, I'm not sure, probably just leave it. Too costy to demolish it will the bus bays below.

  • When exactly is work going to start on the new Kennedy SRT station. I know that the new cars are supposed to be ready by 2015 (just wondering what the timeline will be). Plus what will become of the LRT/RT station once the work is complete (it would be a bit odd having the elevated station just sitting there)? Considering all of the missing ceiling paneling and work that has taken place to repair structural damage from water leakage...
