DSP to DC Event Pt. 3 (WhoWillCare.net, September 9, 2008)

Many gathered on Capitol Hill on a rainy September 9, 2008 to show their support for HR 1279, the Direct Support Professional Fairness and Security Act. DSPs as they are known are caregivers and wear many other hats.

Also at the rally were Congresswoman Lois Capps (D-CA) and Congressman Lee Terry (R-NE) who co-authored the bill.

DSPs make under less than the federal standard of poverty level each year.

This rally is in support of giving states flexibility in spening their Medicaid dollars on DSPs and people with disabilities.
