Chaldea as the name of a country is used in two different senses[1]. In the early period it was the name of a small territory in southern Babylonia extending along the northern and probably also the western shores of the Persian gulf. mat Kaldi—that is, "land of Chaldea"—but there is also used, apparently synonymously, the expression mât Bit Yakin. It would appear that Bit Yakin was of the land; and the king of Chaldea is also called the king of Bit Yakin, just as the kings of Bab the estuaries of the Tigris and Euphrates, which then discharged their waters through narrow bonds and obtained the ascendency over all Babylonia, they gave their name to the whole land of Babylonia, which under the Chaldean dynasty was called Chaldea.

  • Hi Alqoshi . First of all I'd like to thank you for this video . My origin is from the country of Babylon . My family still knows its chaldean origin & I'm proud of that . The new research proved that the genetic materials for the current citizens of Babylon province is the same as the genetic materials in the ancient bones which have been discovered in our city Babylon

  • thank you, you're a Chaldean brother. God bless you and the Chaldean Nation

god bless mesopatma and our country is cursed

  • you are right my brother.

  • Sorrym JOnaTH4N94, but new studies are being done that prove that Chaldeans of today do have actual connections with ancient Chaldeans. It's impossible for a large group of people to completely disappear.

And I must add that I do love your sense of unity and brotherhood because we are all very similar and do love eachother. But I don't agree that it is right for beautiful names like "Chaldean" and "Syriac" to stop being used simply because Assyrians want everyone to call themselves Assyrians.

  • The real chaldeans are extinct, for whoever thinks they are chaldean, your not, your an assyrian.
