It was certainly not intended as an insult to Esperanto but to show that children too speak Esperanto and sing in it like in any other language.

Why did it seem to you to look like an insult?

Well the melody is used in a mocking song sung in English. But, if we let go the psychological influence of knowing that, we can accept a candid meaning in a song sung in Esperanto which means just a didactic exercise for children to learn a language.

Mi ne pensis pri "kaŝita" signifo, mi ĝojas, ke infanoj kantas esperante,vi eble preferas:

Hej, lernu, lernu, lernu nun...lernu esperanton nun!

Gravas, ke ni parolas, babilas perrete, kantas en esperantujo, vere tro da homoj ne scias eĉ pri la ekzisto de esperanto. Mi ne deziras vivi en Europo, kiu parolus la anglan, mi volas lingvon tre rapide lerneblan por ĉiuj. Malfermu, gesinjoroj registraranoj, al esperanto la pordon de la lernejoj kaj atendu ni!

well, I live in Quebec province, Canada. We speak French here. So, if you know what Alouette, gentille Alouette means, and you know all the song, you can see that this is like a funny kind of insult. It just looks extremely ridiculous, but maybe, the idea is good. It would fit best in a new kid song, made only for Esperanto
