here, in Poland, the reason for surfing with text based browsers is usually connection speed. with my 300kbps some graphics are loading few seconds and few is definitively to much considering how many web pages i visit every day. advertisments are just another portion of heavy graphics. anyway, text is still 2-dimensional, isn't it? :P

Actually, I get motion sickness really easily, so a 3d web would not be nice.
