OTHELLO - a story of love, betrayal and ultimately revenge. This two hour television adaptation of the well-known Shakespearean play delivers a psychological thriller with romance, deceit and murder, starring Carlo Rota (24, Little Mosque on the Prairie) in the title role. Director Zaib Shaikh (Little Mosque on the Prairie) maintains the theatrical feel of the play, while shooting in a studio controlled environment. The play has been restructured and edited for the television presentation, but preserves the beauty of Shakespeare's text and highlights the relevancy of the story for today's audience. Also starring Matthew Deslippe (Across the River to Motor City) as Iago, Christine Horne (The Stone Angel) as Desdemona, Graham Abbey (The Border, Heartland) as Cassio. The adaptation was co-written by Zaib Shaikh and Matthew Edison.
