A very old Elton John song that I have always loved. The lyrics makes me catch my breath, and sends my heart nto places that I no longer want to go.

** I Need You To Turn To **

You're not a ship to carry my life
You are nailed to my love
In many lonely nights
I've strayed from the cottages
And found myself here
For I need your love
Your love protects my fears

And I wonder sometimes
And I know I'm unkind
But I need you to turn to
When I act so blind
And I need you to turn to
When I lose control
You're my guardian angel~
Who keeps out the cold

Did you paint your smile on
Well, I said I knew
That my reason for living
Was for loving you
We're related in feeling
But you're high above
You're pure and you're gentle
With the grace of a dove

  • Arigato, Masami san! The story this song tells is truly sad.. but put together and sung so very well by Sir Elton John, yes? :)

I truly appreciate that you took the time to come by and listen.. thank you, Masami san!

  • Elton was undeniably a Superstar. I often wonder where he would be without Bernie's contribution of lyric.

  • @bobbyChrismikeLou ha ha ha...that's very amusing.

  • @ajpianoman1 Just the style. "rip off" was too strong a term, forgive me. Call it an homage.

  • @bobbyChrismikeLou Really? What song does it sound like. That would be awfully unlike Elton to steal ideas from another artist.

  • Sounds like a Beatles rip off. Actually I think George Harrison wrote this.

  • This song brings up a certain pair of eyes to mind that I shall not forget as long as I live. <3

  • God , how i love this song ,it soothes - i started to listen to him since i was 12 and he was my first superstar crash !! oh those were the days - i still listen to him with wonder and amazement for churning out good songs till today ! now i want to try to download first episode at hienton(if i got the title right) its from the same album (got it on vinyl)

  • I have always loved this song as well. Your words about how this song makes you feel are almost as eloquent as the song's lyrics. Bravo. I find it stunning how certain songs are so beautiful and real they are almost to much to bear. This is certainly one of them. Thanks so much for posting!
