In this regard when Gov.t's start privatising what are public services everyone is going for a ride. You the People, as a country/nation, must share the resources for the benefit of all, when this stops it will affect all but the very wealthy, and I sure as fuck ain't talking about socialism. Corporations aren't there to help people unless there is profit involved, its food, energy, infrastructure, social responsibility, education, justice, etc. etc.

Best of all, the News is reporting that 3 Hispanic Men are robbing homes in the area, and gaining entrance to homes by saying they work for BGE. And people just let them in.

What i doin't understand is, if electricity is essential to modern life, then why don't the people own the power company?

Well done response to the gas company. Follow up your call with a letter that says that every day it's off you want a deduction PLUS aggravation since it's THEIR mistake.
