Stacey Broughton's head block haircut tutorial demonstrates a pure firefly technique. This technique teaches how to build graduation from the front hairline through to the back following the rounded contour of the head.

The process begins on the right-hand side, which will act as a guide for the flatter less dense second side for an even balance. Elevation, over-direction and the degree of tension will add graduation throughout the shape running into the back with a diagonal section to enhance the head shape0
.
This shape provides the techniques to master graduation through the build up of diagonal sections and how to cross the graduation in the back from one shoulder to the other for perfect balance.
