Winning is not all about showing how good & how complicated you initiate your kicks. What i can see here is that, Son Tae Jin is playing the most basic attack (Turning kick?) to defeat his opponent without a need of unleashing a full strength?
The match may showed it boring, but to the fighters in the ring..Playing the most strategy way is to win instead of showing all his best move. He is rather a defensive player, from my personal view.

I disagree, I think he was more aggressive but most of his kicks hit with the lower leg or ankle instead of the instep.
