Here an excerpt from a 1983 WMC-TV 5 Memphis broadcast of Dick William's Magicland. This show is certified by the Guiness Book of World Records to be the longest running magic show on TV. Dick Williams, aka "Mr. Magic" and his assistant (his wife, Virginia) did 1200 original Magicland shows over 23 years, from 1966 until 1989, all at WMC-TV 5 in Memphis, Tennessee.

In addition to a bit of magic and clowning around from Dick Williams (an undisputed master of corny joke telling), this clip also includes a 1983 McDonalds "Wild West Happy Meal Guys on a Stagecoach" commercial along with one of the typical commercials by local advertiser, Aaron Sells Furniture.

  • Really quite a clever show. Surprized it lasted as long as it did as mostly all the children's shows died in the mid 1970s. Seems this was a very good show as seen in the short clip. Would be nice to see an entire show sometime. Thanks for sharing. The magician was actually quite funny as well which is good.

  • Amazing! I did not grow up in that generation, but I did come across a book a fews years ago about the show.
