Napoleon ascent from a Corsican boy to the most powerful man of the World is only seconded by Hitler´s. If One looks at the handicaps burdening Hitler to become the master of Germany, no to say of Europe, one will find no parallel. Genghis Kahn, maybe, but he was of noble origin in Mongolia. Alexander the Great, obviously not, although Macedonia maybe. Tobespierre also, but he did not last and was easily overthrown.

@TheRedEnsign 'He was one of the most villainous and yet fascinating men of this millennium'
He was fascinating, no doubt but villainous? Nap was doing his best for France. The Coalition since the French Revolution wanted to crush France for their own purposes and Nap foiled them. He made life for the peasants better, allowed the exiled noblemen to return and brought glory to France for sometime. If you realise, most historians who hate Nap are people from Britain, Austria, Russia and Germany.

I JUST WATCHED THIS VIDEO TODAY FOR HISTORY CLASS :O
I watch your video almost every time I log in. Napoleon's own comment "In times of scorn & casual temptations to immorality, I have never been influenced by lack of religous belief and have never doubted the existence of God."

One of the greatest men who has ever lived. I am struck with awe evertime I see a painting of him.

@Christianvirtue I remember when I saw the painting of his coronation at the Louvre; it was awe-inspiring. It hangs (if I remember correctly) in the same hall as that of his retreat from Russia.

Thoughtful and contemplative - and I loved the way you matched the pictures so well to the words. Know from expereince this is difficult to do, so congratulations. Marvellous pictures by the way. Napoleon Bonaparte was a wonderful person and this is a tribute worthy of him.
