@lynnpaul100 Thanks for the info. One thing I have noticed on my journey to info about horses, is that many opinions confict among people.

I rode a shod horse for the first time in 4 years and really noticed his lack of traction and balance on the road. Me no like! Me love my barefoot babies!!!

I ride my horse barefoot,[ a novice] and was told the other day that it would make her lame. I only walk her and it is about three miles till I get to a gravel road.
Is a gravel road bad also? Thanks Lynn

@lynnpaul100 I have never had any lameness issues from my riding my horses barefoot on paved roads. As for gravel, some horses are conditioned to go over gravel and they have no problems, but some are more comfortable wearing hoof boots. I like using hoof boots for gravel because I don't worry about stone bruises occurring. Have fun with your mare~~

When you say Barefoot do you mean (horse) shoeless?

I like the sound of barefoot horses on a road :) Much nicer than shod ones.

Me, too. And they don't slip or slide, either! :-)
