The Supreme Court's recent decision to open the floodgates and allow corporate funds to be used in federal elections will further strengthen the influence of the military-industrial complex. We talked to U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson (FL-08) about his efforts to push back against the influence of war contractors and other corporations in our elections.

  • So why is he against freedom of speech for people or groups of people?

  • Wait a sec, hasn't this been going on since the Banana Wars of the 1920's? United Fruit Company directed profited from US military expeditions in South America in the 20-30's. Mobil-Exxon made huge profits after Iraq was invaded in 2003. So what's the big deal?

But I agree with you that its a bribery-corruption racket. I hope you can change the law but I dunno how you can enforce it. For every law, American politicians and companies are good at finding loopholes. Kinda makes a mockery of law

  • The concept that politicians can be bought is ridiculous since it is the people who vote them in. It is the people who refuse to stop being lay and be more proactive to what is really truth in our society. It is the people who sit back and ignorantly vote in corruption. Botom line the people are accountable for who they vote in. Let evil doers pay for politicians. Let the good pay for good. If the good wont sacrifice and pay for good elected officials& vote for good its their own fault!

  • It could not possibly affect American democracy because we do not have a democracy. We have a Republic. You know for which the Flag stands. And to the REPUBLIC for which it stands....

  • and they don't even have to be american controlled corporations, it's like the manchurian candidate times 1000, why arn't people in the streets protesting this crap?.

  • Hear hear.

However, there's an easy way round this. Just move the money around in the Caymans. Y'a get me. How would you enforce these ideas, noble though they are...

  • America's over, might as well have some fun on the way down.

New senate debates....coke! pesi! great taste! less filling!

  • @Longlivepalestine

More like the last step to fascism. We have had other steps towards it like the patriot act, military commissions act, Gitmo, etc.

  • Hasn't this video been posted like twice before?

  • The first step to fascism.
