@purplemuchful yea the t2i is a rebel and is an excellent all around camera 18mp with full 1080p video..it runs about $800 body only

I did indeed.
I was comparing the d60 with the XSi, and I decided that the canon was just a better choice.

ps. is it hard to hold? (eg. cramped, slippery)
& does it feel cheap, or does it feel like the surface of the black macbook ?

It's very nice to hold.
It's the perfect weight, (light, but still feels like it isn't going to float out of your hands).
It feels well made, and the surface is a hard, durable plastic.
