Synopsis
Sean (Colm O' Leary), an Irish immigrant to America, returning from military service in Afghanistan, finds his heart and mind in disarray. He befriends Ike (Will Oldham) a strong willed Evangelical Christian, who endeavors to ensure his salvation. Inundated by a relentless fragility, Sean is confronted by a choice between the temptation of certainty and the chaos of the world around him. A meditation on friendship, need and frailty, New Jerusalem explores the allure and limitations of modern utopian belief.

There's a city in the jungle of my country called New Jerusalem. It was founded by evangelical Christians who believe that it's a sort of promised land. I can't share their beliefs but I find laudable how some people have the courage and strength to live as they think, without taking care of what the rest of people might say behind their back.
