Looking to achieve success in MLM? Good for you!
The desire to succeed is a very important start, but it's only the beginning. To truly succeed, you'll need to do a lot more. Here are some guidelines to get you started on the right path.
Success in MLM Tip #1 - Get Organized
Most people starting out in MLM skip this step altogether. Don't make that same mistake. Getting organized from the beginning when things are small will be much easier than trying to play catch up later on. You'll want to get organized both physically - like with your office, files, leads, etc. But don't forget to get organized mentally as well.
Getting mentally organized means that you're really committed to the industry, your primary company and most importantly to yourself. Know that you have the ability to be successful and also know that you deserve to achieve your dreams. Having belief in your dreams is the motivation for all the hard work you're going to need to do to make it happen.
This is often referred to as your "why". Why is building a successful business so important to you? What is your reason, that thing that keeps you up at night? I'll tell you "to make more money" is never the real reason. Dig deep into yourself and decide the real reason why. What would you do with an extra $5k - 10K per month coming into your bank account? How would it change your life. A big enough "why" will be crucial in keeping you focused on achieving your goals.
Success in MLM Tip #2 - Write Down Your Goals
You're in business for yourself and working from home, but don't let that cause you to dismiss this step as unimportant. Setting goals in like mapping out your route before you leave the house on a driving vacation. If you don't have a detailed map of where you're going, you'll never get there no matter how long or how far you drive.
When putting together your goals be sure to be very specific. Know exactly what you want. Be crystal clear about it.
Goals that are vague are goals that are left unaccomplished. Part of the reason for this is that you can't develop specific actions plans if you don't know exactly what it is you're trying to accomplish. An example of a very specific goal might be that you will share your business opportunity with a minimum of 5 people every day. With a goal this specific, you can put together a plan to achieve them and be able to track your progress very accurately. That's what you want to strive for with every goal you set.
Success in MLM Tip #3 - Be Coachable
No matter how long you've been in the industry you have to "check your ego at the door". If you want to learn how to build a successful business, you simply must be coachable. That means you have to be willing to learn how to do what's working at that time. What you did 5 years ago may have worked then, but if it's not working now, you need to learn new skills and adapt if you want to make it.
Being coachable doesn't mean you can sit back and expect someone else to build your business for you. It's not your mentor's or sponsor's responsibility to do the work for you. If you're truly committed to changing your life by creating your own successful MLM business, go out and find people who know how to do it and be willing to learn from them.
Find someone who's producing results doing what you've chosen to do and follow them. Figure out exactly how they're doing it and copy them. Call, email or join their list and study their methods. You might be surprised how willing other people are to help you if you just ask for it.
Success in MLM Tip #4 - Develop a Daily Plan of Action
Having and following a daily plan of action is the only way you are going to truly succeed in building your MLM business. This is true both in the long and short run. You must know every single day exactly what you're going to do. A daily plan of action will keep you on task and help you avoid getting distracted by the million things that will pop up as you go about your work day.
Fortunately the tools, training and support to achieve success in MLM can be found all in one place.
