The last few weeks I've been working restoring this ARP Odyssey. This is an ARP Odyssey MKII 2813. Filter is 4075 model and the synth has CV/gate in/outs. This video was made while I was testing the synth after assembling. A bit of reverb/delay has been added , the audio has been recorded on the computer and substitutes the camera audio.

Some of the works that have been made on the synth were :

- All sliders have been desoldered from the pcb , opened and cleaned and changed if needed.
- All switches have been desoldered from the pcb , opened and cleaned.
- Boards have been cleaned
- Keyboard have been totally disassembled and cleaned
- Keyboard bushings have been replaced
- CV and Gate bus have been cleaned
- Front panel has been cleaned
- Filter has been mod for higher cut off frequency ( 4075 filter bug correction )
-Synth has been recalibrated
-etc etc etc

You can see pictures of this restoration on my flickr

If you want to hear the audio from the video with better quality ( MP3 320Kbps) you can do it here

  • What is the best model Odyssey to pick up in your opinion?

  • @EdWood2006 I've played the MKI and MKII , and the overall sound is different due the filter, the MKI has 12db and MKII 24db . I think that MKII has more wild sound.

  • @GEORGEMARAUDER

    yeah probably just needs calibration

  • Do you offer to calibrate Odysseys for other people? I have an Odyssey and the 2nd OSC drifts slightly out of tune after 6 notes up or down. I'm sure it just needs to be recalibrated. Well I'm not really sure, but I hope that's all it is. Any chance you would do that for a fee?

  • HI! can you make some presets like Yazoo first album? but like original. Thanks!

  • i've got an odyssey too but its just a plastic box of dry joints now, can it be restored?

  • It's nice to see somebody on this dang toob that actually knows their way around an Odyssey. Excellent stuff. I wish mine was all restored and calibrated like that!
