@andreghouse i disagree with u a hundred 100% percent. i dont think, her look, ass, AND talent is what sales her songs. No! she cant sing like christina, but Christina cant sing like her. In can picture Christina singing california girls or teenage dream, so there, stop comparing two different people with different talents.Its also more than just a great singing voice and seeing how long you can hold a note, its what you can do with that voice in a song, just ask Beyonce.

Unfortunately for KP her voice doesn't quite cut it, this is why every second line sung is overlaid with backing vocals to help cover her vocal shortfall, but also to fill out the melody. I think she is hot, her look and sass is what sells the songs that she and others write, but I don't think she is a great singer like say Christina A. This is why the Milli Vanillis of the world existed two decades ago. However, today there is greater demand for recording artists to tour so they make it work.

I love Katy Perry and her songs but it's pretty obvious she can't sing very well live. You would expect her to sound awesome after listening to her songs but she doesn't. She needs a lot of backup help, which is why she even sound any where close to decent. Also, the high notes that are in her actual songs, she takes it a few notes down when she sings live so she can sound better. But...I still love her. She's hot and her songs are catchy

@joker6236 But completely messing up the beginning of a song is just bad. Also her technique is bad, especially the higher tones are pretty weak.

And you know what sells her songs? The really good producers and engineers sitting in the recording studio and making a commercially succesful song. Its not really important how the singer can sing or something like that. U just need some1 good lookin to give the songs a face. Thats it.
