How this terminus station should still be in Cowes today. Marples and Beeching caused more damage to Cowes and the whole country than the Luftwaffe ever did or wanted to. The station was in the middle of Cowes High Street.

Oh how wonderful to see those old trains again. Living in Cowes as a child through late teens, I used the rail frequently to get to Newport or Ryde. Always loved sticking my head out of the window when we went through the tunnels. Remember the old "sash" windows that you pulled up or let down with a leather strap? And I will never forget the smell of those coal fired engines. Thank you for bring back a host of wonderful memories.

Im surprised no ones mentioned the Scotsman, great to see particularly as lot of the of the lines are long gone and sadly before my time! Real history, Thanks again.
