Video of trains at Diggle Junction. The path on the left of the metal fence is the old trackbed of the Micklehurst Loop ( the old tunnel can be seen in the background ) which ran from Stalybridge through Staley and Millbrook, Micklehurst, Friezland , Uppermill and Diggle and carried passanger and Freight trains. It ceased passanger operations by 1917 with Micklehurst closing in 1907, Staley and Millbrook in 1909 and Uppermill and Friezland in 1917, The line was closed to all traffic in 1966. © JonB125
