Good job you guys! It's great to see young people getting this history. It's stuff I didn't know growing up in the digital age. I learned about it through the book "The Dream Machine," by M. Mitchell Waldrop. It covers computer history going from the 1920s to the 1990s. It talks about Licklider's life and work, and the many people he worked with.

P.S. I stand corrected. Kleinrock's primary field of research was queueing theory (an essential element in the development of packet switching technology).
My apologies to Mr. Baran, and the posters. Credit where credit is due.
I will make an effort to get my own facts in order prior to future comments.
P.P.S. Bolt, Baranek & Newman (BBN), MIT, and Harvard University are located in Cambridge, MA. Boston is on the other side of the Charles River.

Paul Baran? Surely you mean Leonard Kleinrock (IMP #1, installed at UCLA 1969-09-01 --- a.k.a the Network Measurement Center).
Credit where credit is due.
Thanks in advance for getting your facts in order before future posts.
