  • @kraziekid8 I hear your pain. Hopefully... one day it will hit the PSN, and perhaps some other good shmups will be made for NGP and 3DS too. Handhelds FTW.

  • hahaha you say its not that hard because you aint playing it on hard.

  • god i hate that this awesome game is not on psn

  • That looks tricky lol. I'm still a touhou fan for this genre though lol.

You clearly under estimate the power of stupid people on the internet. I'm actually glad you were being sarcastic. Because it's something that you could google for. I see my error was trying to be nice to someone I thought was as dumb as a post. Because, you know, treating people like shit is the best way to get them interested in your fandom.

  • @MonsterconFromMars someone's sarcasm detector is broke.

In this game chaining is when you destroy three of the same color enemies. Destroying an enemy of the opposite color resets your Chain. Chains increase your score dramatically and will earn you extra lives sooner. The opposite end of the spectrum would be Dot Eating. Which is where you just absorb bullets and don't kill anything. Including bosses. After a set period of time bosses will retreat regardless of health.

  • Chaining, how does it work?

  • "This game basically consists of shooting everything that's coming at you..."

Ugh, does nobody else even attempt to chain in Ikaruga? If I had just watched this review without any prior knowledge, I would have easily just written Ikaruga off as another shmup. The chaining system is what makes this game so amazing and almost all reviewers seem to just ignore it for some reason.
