This happens at SBH/TFFJ (St. Barthelemy) near TNCM. As you see, no fatalities happen on this crash, only minor damages.

Plane looks like a Piper Seneca V, may be a Beech baron.

Message by jdinri :"It's an Aztec (PA-23). It's AirAmericaCaribbean.com. It's the owner flying. I used to fly/work for him, he's a cocky jerk. I left because of his attitudes towards safety, here his is demonstrating those attitudes. He's blown tires on this runway before, landing long and trying to save it. But you can't tell him anything, he knows it all."

  • I don't know much about flying yet, but I joined Civil Air Patrol...Aren't you just supposed to abort landing if you get that far, and take another shot?

  • @Knightsairsoftteam Yes you are... A pilot should always land on the first third (1/3) of the runway...

  • This is supposed to be one of the hardest airports in the world to land at. I'm going to get on Flight Simulator 2004 and see how I measure up. ;D

  • @GeneralSirDouglasMcA The default scenery is a bit... default. The best one for TFFJ is the one from FlyTampa (TFFJ comes with the TNCM scenery)

  • I rented a 172 there once and performed T&G's. The most exciting landings of my life. Plus as you climb over the beach, topless women will wave at you. :-)

  • Lol

  • It's not a baron btw ;)

  • Welcome to St. Barts! ;)

Good to see the emergency service wandering out to the stricken aircraft...

  • woow. crap. crap happened;)

  • @alienhuman I was there on vacation for a week and wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to learn to land here. To go it alone, one has to have a sign-off from an instructor to obtain a permit. And to get the sign-off, I believe one has to have about 5- 10 successful landings (I don't remember the exact count), but it includes having to land each way on the runway (10 and 28). It's difficult to obtain the sign-off in one day because the winds are usually favor a RW 10 landing.

  • @kilroy2009 I withdraw my doubt, now that you mentioned an instructor was along.

  • Crap!!! hahahaha

  • @alienhuman ... :-) as crazy as it sounds, it is true. I had an instructor with me and they were still the most white-knuckled touch & gos of my life. The 25 knot crosswinds added to the excitement too!

  • @GeneralSirDouglasMcA Try some places up here in Alaska :-)

  • oh, crap!
