Generally the stator. It burns up. More so on EVO EFI bikes like mine, a 97 FLHTCI. They upped the current rating of the charging system to 45 Amps by changing the rotor to more or stronger magnets, but left the 38 Amp stator the same.

I cannot seem to find a removal tool like the one shown in the video. Anybody seen it for sale?

@noflyzonnn - I agree with gliderp; I have lost 3 stators; about every 20,000 miles. Rotor looks good, still original. There are a couple of very good message boards that discuss this issue.
I indicate in my video that I feel my battery caused the problem; one excellent read of a message board indicated I may have a momentary short/ground somewhere casuing these problems.
So check ALL your wiring and make sure connections are clean.
