NC* The House of the Dead: Overkill (Wii) Review

Listing the natural shortcomings of your favorite genre is never going to help your argument out much but this is a fun game anyway.

Yes I realize that there is a House of the Dead 4, but that has yet to hit the Wii.

Good review, might pick this up when it's a bit cheaper. Would you say it's better than HotD3 and 4?

Oh, and do you plan on reviewing MadWorld? I've been playing it and I'd love to see your opinion on it, since it manages to keep the arcade beat 'em up feel while still feeling fresh and original.

Overall better than 3 but then 3 is probably better in an arcade setting. More or less the same for 4, although I can barely remember it since I've only played it a couple times or so.

MadWorld I'd like to, but it shares the unfortunate fate of being released the same week as RE5 so I probably won't have the chance to get to it for awhile.

Neither was really exciting enough to mention... the weapon system is pretty much exactly as you'd expect in this sort of game.

I think it deserved an 8 because:

1. It is the finest game in its crap genre

2. It fulfills the role you described (drunken party game) PERFECTLY

@neverchris didnt the resident evil light gun games on the Wii make you think about certain boss fights or how to progress? Would that then be considered a hardcore light gun game? I only ask because I havent played them and dont really know lol.

This game is actually controversial, not because it drops the world's largest amount of F-Bombs, but because nerds FREAKED when they saw that a nerdy character was being interrogated and had his glasses knocked off, and then in the next frame his glasses were on.

Man, House Of The Dead 4 would be a pretty good Wii port (well, maybe not, but I'd get it if it was budget).
