Super たいこ Concert "あらなみ" @ JACCC Plaza on 3-5-11

The Super Taiko Concert, "Aranami", on March 5, 2011, was performed outdoors on the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center (JACCC) plaza in front of the George and Sakaye Aratani/Japan America Theatre which is located in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles. It featured two of Japan's most critically acclaimed taiko soloists and former members of Kodo, Hiroyuki Hayashida and Shuichi Hidano, joined by taiko phenom Jun Takada to make up a super taiko trio. The Taiko Center of Los Angeles (TCLA) Ensemble, under the direction of Rev. Tom Kurai (founder and artistic director), opened for this high-octane performance with special guest artist, percussionist Alfredo Ortiz (Beastie Boys, Morningwood).
